Litunania Post Uses Zebra Solutions for Making Postal Couriers Smarter

Lithuania Post, the national postal operator, faced falling footfall in rural areas that made keeping small local post offices financially unsustainable while still needing to maintain reliable services for dispersed customers. To address this, the company launched the Smart Postman initiative to equip postal workers with mobile tools—tablets, scales, phones and rugged mobile printers—so they could deliver full post-office services directly to customers’ homes.

The solution centered on 2,000 Zebra ZQ510 mobile printers paired with Android tablets running the MLIS task manager, Bluetooth connectivity and centralized Print DNA management for remote configuration and troubleshooting. The rollout, initially rural and now expanding to cities, has cut paperwork, improved accuracy and efficiency, earned national and international recognition, and achieved strong adoption and satisfaction (over 90% satisfied customers and 76% as-or-more satisfied than with traditional offices), delivering clear cost, operational and user-experience benefits.
