CEWE Stiftung & Co. KGaA is a leading German photo-product manufacturer that creates personalised photo books, prints and gifts for customers across Europe. Because each book is unique and subject to strict data‑protection requirements, CEWE needed a fail‑safe, high‑speed verification system to ensure the correct pages are bound into each book—reading up to 22,000 barcodes per hour on its Germering production line.

Working with CSG, CEWE deployed Zebra’s FS40 Fixed Industrial Scanner with Zebra Aurora software as a pilot solution. The scanner delivers reliable, automatic high‑speed barcode capture (up to 22,000 scans/hour), was rapidly configured and deployed, and now provides an extra layer of security and quality assurance—enabling roll‑out to other lines and sites and applicability across manufacturing and logistics.
