European Retailer Deploys Proven Zebra Personal Shopping Solution for an Enhanced, Easy In-Store Shopping Experience for All Customers

Kaufland, a European supermarket chain with over 1,300 stores and 132,000+ employees across eight countries, sought to broaden its in-store digital options beyond self-checkouts to offer a fully inclusive, professional personal shopping experience that any customer could use. After initial mobile self-scanning trials showed limited uptake for larger baskets, Kaufland needed a proven, integrated Personal Shopping Solution (PSS) that would work with its existing SCO, CRM and POS systems and scale across stores.

Working with Re‑Vision and Zebra, Kaufland deployed K‑Scan—a PSS built on Zebra PS20 scanners, CC6000 customer concierges, Mobility DNA tools, Zebra OneCare support and Re‑Vision’s branded software—rolled out via pilots and phased country deployments. The integrated solution sped up checkout, increased SCO usage, supported contactless shopping during COVID, achieved 99% customer satisfaction in surveys and surpassed 1 million PSS transactions in the Czech Republic, creating a repeatable blueprint for wider rollout.
