A Zebra Case Study
Elisabeth-TweeSteden Hospital (ETZ) is a major clinical teaching hospital in the Netherlands facing the common healthcare pressures of an aging population, more complex chronic conditions and staff shortages. After introducing a new electronic health record, ETZ still relied on paper worksheets and delayed data entry, creating privacy risks, workflow inefficiencies and a need for mobile access to real-time patient information at the bedside.
ETZ deployed Zebra TC52‑HC and TC26‑HC Android mobile computers with LifeGuard security, StageNow staging, Zebra OneCare support and partner services from Fondo and Dalosy to run Epic Rover at the point of care. The rollout enabled instant EHR updates, wristband scanning, bedside photos and integration with a smart-patch pilot, automating manual tasks, reducing errors, improving patient privacy and safety, and streamlining clinician workflows and efficiency.
