Dutch Blood Bank Deploys New Generation of Industrial-Grade Zebra Technology for Reliable, High-Volume Printing

Sanquin, the Netherlands’ not‑for‑profit blood bank and diagnostics organisation, needed to replace ageing industrial printers that handled 1.56 million labels a year across seven locations. Because labelling is mission‑critical, Sanquin required a new generation of printers and a centralised, fail‑safe printing management solution that would standardise hardware, ensure reliability and minimise downtime.

Following testing with long‑time partner Geostick, Sanquin deployed Zebra ZT610 industrial printers with the Print DNA software suite and a phased rollout across its sites, standardising on 203 dpi and using peel/rewind where needed. The cloud‑accessible platform and upcoming Printer Profile Manager Enterprise enable central monitoring, security and remote updates, delivering reliable high‑volume printing, reduced on‑site visits, maximised uptime (reported as 100% since deployment) and ongoing support under Geostick’s SLA.
