A Zebra Case Study
Caesars Entertainment’s fine‑dining venue Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace needed to modernize its cook‑chill food preparation and storage process to meet strict Southern Nevada Health District/FDA requirements, reduce tedious paper temperature logs, and free chefs to focus on cooking. The challenge was to automate temperature monitoring and ensure rugged, easy‑to‑use tools that work in a demanding kitchen environment.
Caesars deployed the Disney CHEFS® application by iCertainty on Zebra TC56 mobile computers with ZD420 printers, LoRaWAN freezer sensors and cloud connectivity to automate temperature capture, alerts and reporting. The system was live in under two months, delivers real‑time monitoring and 15‑minute logging, prints QR labels for tracking, and cut production and labor costs by up to 66% for some items while extending prepared‑food freshness from one to four weeks — a solution now scaling to larger operations like the Bacchanal Buffet.
