BetXS Launches Fully Automated Retail Bookmakers

Orchadia Systems, founded by BetXS director Colm Finlay with AI Video Ltd, set out to reverse the decline of small‑town bookmakers by creating the world’s first fully automated retail betting shops. Facing rising operating costs, regulatory complexity and risks from manual processes, the company needed a compliant, reliable solution that improved ledger accuracy and cut costs to make small‑town bookmaking viable again.

Orchadia partnered with AI Video, imageHOLDERS and Zebra to build branded self‑service kiosks integrating facial recognition, age verification, self‑exclusion, 2D scanning (Zebra SE3307), FSB sportsbook software and a shared ledger for AML controls. Deployed as a proof of concept in three Irish BetXS shops, the system delivered robust hardware and regulatory compliance, improved data accuracy, and reduced retail operating costs by as much as 65%, creating a scalable model for global rollout where permitted.
