BE Switchcraft Achieves Real-Time Visibility of Manufacturing Processes with Zebra FX9600 RFID Solution

BE Switchcraft, an Adelaide-based manufacturer of customised electrical switchboards serving clients across Australia and Papua New Guinea, faced rapid growth and needed a more efficient way to track each order through multiple factory steps and provide customers with accurate, real-time status. Their manual data entry and a short-lived barcode scanning approach proved slow, unreliable and insufficient for timely decision-making.

Working with partner Datanet, BE Switchcraft deployed Zebra FX9600 fixed RFID readers, antennas and an RFID label printer integrated into its MYOB ERP; RFID tags are placed on each project’s document bundle and read at key production stations. The solution delivered real-time visibility of all products in manufacture, reduced manual processes, improved deadline and process monitoring, increased staff adoption of tracking, and provided the timely data needed to support further growth.
