ArcBest uses Zebra rugged handhelds and tablets to support drivers and dock workers

ArcBest, a logistics company with a large in-house IT team, needed to retire aging mobile computers that limited functionality and user experience. The challenge was to deploy Android-based, rugged devices that could run proprietary apps, give drivers and dock workers real-time visibility into routes and shipments, speed pickups and deliveries, and improve employee satisfaction and retention.

ArcBest partnered with Zebra to deploy TC75/TC75x/TC77 handhelds, L10 rugged tablets, Workforce Connect PTT Pro and Zebra Professional Services. The new platform added barcode scanning, route optimization and real-time messaging, increased device reliability in harsh conditions, reduced repair and replacement costs, raised end-user productivity and satisfaction, and accelerated deliveries—while providing a clearer roadmap for future innovations such as camera-based scanning and RFID.
