Innogy Achieves a 20% Increase in Performance of SAP Application

Innogy, one of Europe’s leading electricity and gas companies (formerly RWE), was experiencing stability and performance problems with its EMC VNX storage supporting SAP HR, Solman and Lancelot e‑commerce applications. Seeking greater performance, improved application stability and a shift from CapEx to a cloud-based OpEx model, Innogy evaluated alternatives and selected Zadara Storage as its vendor.

Zadara Storage deployed its Virtual Private Storage Array (VPSA) enterprise storage-as-a-service with Backup to S3 in Dublin, connected to Innogy’s AWS compute environment, replacing the on‑premises arrays. The Zadara solution delivered dramatically improved stability and scalability, enabled a rapid 48‑hour rollout, transitioned Innogy to a full cloud OpEx model, and produced a measurable 20% performance increase for the SAP and e‑commerce applications.
