YEC Solutions, a long-standing NEC Group data center operator, needed a way to monitor rapidly growing virtualized infrastructure without the license cost inflation and operational complexity of their previous commercial tools. Key requirements included support for modern OSes, zero-cost upgrades, node-independent licensing, Japanese-language support, turnkey deployment, and future scalability.

YEC adopted open-source Zabbix 3.0, using Zabbix Japan turnkey builds, reusable templates and agent architecture, and certifying engineers to ensure reliable local support. The result is a highly functional, easy-to-configure monitoring platform that reduces configuration man-hours, delivers richer raw-data visibility for faster troubleshooting, and scales from the initial 80 monitored devices toward a planned 1,000 devices and ~60,000 items while enabling YEC to offer Zabbix build services to customers.
