Case Study: Rakuten Securities achieves unified cross-platform monitoring and near-zero downtime with Zabbix

A Zabbix Case Study

Preview of the Rakuten Securities Case Study

Unified monitoring across varying architectures using Zabbix High-level service is strength of Rakuten Securities

Rakuten Securities, a major online securities firm in the Rakuten Group serving about 1.74 million customers, needed to minimize downtime and achieve unified operational visibility across a mix of legacy and newer platforms (Oracle, IBM, Microsoft) acquired over time. Their challenge was to monitor resources, errors and bottlenecks across heterogeneous systems with fast reaction and cost-effective, instantly scalable capacity.

They implemented Zabbix with a multiplexed intra-server network and redundant Zabbix servers to provide a single monitoring framework across platforms—monitoring 1,382 devices, 5,328 triggers and 57,311 items. The solution enabled instant alerts and rapid expansion (including scaling Exadata from two to six units), delivered actionable data for weekly management decisions, reduced blind spots and strengthened overall service stability toward their “service will not stop” goal.
