Case Study: Quadrata helps a mid-sized Italian bank unify monitoring with Zabbix

A Zabbix Case Study

Preview of the Quadrata Case Study

Quadrata migrates 13,000+ devices to Zabbix across two data centers and branches

Quadrata, a mid-sized Italian bank, was managing a complex IT environment with over 20 disparate monitoring tools, including CheckMK and LibreNMS. This fragmented approach led to ineffective alerting and a lack of a centralized view, creating a critical need for a single, robust monitoring platform. The bank required a secure, automated solution capable of handling many thousands of devices across two data centers and 1,700 branches.

Zabbix implemented a highly available monitoring architecture using Zabbix Server and Proxies, with a PostgreSQL database enhanced by the TimeScaleDB extension. The solution leveraged Ansible for automated configuration and provisioning. As a result, Zabbix now monitors over 13,000 devices, providing a unified view with thousands of new values per second processed. The project enabled the planned decommissioning of legacy tools and established a scalable, efficient platform for future expansion.
