LMT monitors 3,000+ hosts and 500,000 items with Zabbix

LMT, Latvia's largest telecommunications provider, faced the challenge of monitoring its extensive and critical infrastructure, which included over 3,000 hosts and 500,000 items. To ensure reliability for its 1.5 million users, LMT needed a robust solution to monitor its duplicated data centers and power feeds within its switch cabinets, moving beyond its existing mix of monitoring tools.

The solution from Zabbix utilized Zabbix agent2 with its official Modbus plugin, integrated with NetBox and GraphQL. This combination automatically collected and normalized data, using low-level discovery to create items and triggers, which were then visualized on Zabbix dashboards. As a result, Zabbix made reacting to power feed changes like spikes and gradual shifts much simpler for LMT, directly improving service for its millions of users.
