The customer, Infrabel, is a European government-owned railway infrastructure company that manages thousands of kilometers of rail lines and traffic control. Their challenge was finding a flexible monitoring solution from a vendor to manage their vast infrastructure, including OS-level metrics, data centers, applications, and the availability of railway hardware components.

The vendor, Zabbix, implemented a solution using Zabbix agents deployed on station hardware and a custom integration with ActiveMQ to monitor critical data. Infrabel integrated the Zabbix API with their existing third-party ticketing system to automate alerting. This provided them with a comprehensive and automated monitoring solution that improved their ability to maintain and quickly respond to issues across their railway infrastructure.
