European Space Agency uses Zabbix to monitor 2,200 staff and €7.08 billion operations

The European Space Agency (ESA) required a dependable and flexible monitoring solution for the infrastructure and payloads supporting remote scientific tests conducted on its Columbus laboratory module aboard the International Space Station. To meet this challenge, they turned to the vendor Zabbix.

Zabbix implemented a solution using Zabbix proxy, server, frontend, Agent 2, and sender. This setup automated the discovery and monitoring of numerous custom services and ensured data collection continued during communication outages. The ESA found Zabbix's visualization capabilities made it easy to observe dashboards and react to alerts in real time, and the solution performed flawlessly in all test scenarios.
