Bodybuilding.com, LLC — founded in 1999 and the world’s leading online bodybuilding and supplement retailer — struggled with virtually no IT monitoring in place, leaving the company reactive to issues reported by developers and end users. This lack of visibility hindered reliable problem reporting, trend analysis and capacity planning across its infrastructure.

To fix this, Bodybuilding.com deployed Zabbix (one server, one proxy and a dedicated MySQL database with FusionIO) to centralize monitoring of devices and applications. The solution now monitors about 48,000 items with 12,000 triggers (≈840 values/sec), delivering proactive alerts, easy trend identification, basic capacity planning and room for further performance growth.
