Kellogg’s, the global food company, needed a better way to move data from one system to another without losing the one-to-one transaction structure, while also dealing with large journal entries, multiple currencies, cross-company postings, and month-end closing pressure. To address these Excel-to-SAP process challenges, Kellogg’s used Z Option’s GLSU product, which was already part of its SAP environment.

Z Option implemented GLSU to let Kellogg’s users copy, reformat, validate, and post line-item data directly from Excel into SAP, with support for large uploads, multiple documents, and attached source workbooks. The result was faster and more efficient posting of individual line items in SAP, improved data integrity and productivity, and a significantly shorter close process—down from 8 weeks—while giving finance users a much easier tool than standard SAP.
