The Virtual Vehicle Research Center, a leading R&D center for the automotive and rail industries, faced challenges in managing the multitude of heterogeneous data from various sources required for modern research and development. To meet the future demands of shorter development cycles and greater digitization, they needed a new development environment with a functional system view and advanced information management. They partnered with yWorks to develop a solution for visualizing and navigating this connected data.

Using yWorks' yFiles for HTML, the team developed a web application with an interactive graph that serves as a digital decision-making basis, making it easy to navigate through large linked data sets. The flexibility and relevant examples provided by the yFiles SDK allowed the researchers to design their own application with a high degree of freedom. The solution resulted in a prototypical implementation of future data provision and consistency in engineering along the product lifecycle.
