Airbus deploys web-based factory workflow visualization with yWorks in 2021

Airbus, a leading aerospace manufacturer, faced the challenge of replacing its expiring legacy software used to visualize technical dependencies in its factory workflows. The Manufacturing Process Planning department needed a modern, web-based solution capable of handling large data volumes and allowing for user interaction. They turned to the yWorks yFiles software development kit (SDK) to build this new tool.

Using the yFiles SDK, Airbus developed a customized web application that created hierarchical visualizations of operations and their dependencies. The solution provided out-of-the-box features like graph search, item editing, and the ability to collapse levels, which eliminated the need to build a library from scratch.
