Ryerson brings VR to 9–13-year-old design camps with Yulio Technologies

Ryerson University's architecture program sought to introduce younger students to advanced design technology through a summer camp, aiming to blend skills and provide multidisciplinary exposure beyond traditional software. The challenge was to make complex 3D design and visualization accessible and engaging for students aged 9–13, allowing them to see their creations in a realistic context. They used Yulio's VR software to help achieve this.

Yulio provided an easy-to-use VR platform that allowed students to visualize their 3D models in a real-world setting, specifically Toronto's City Hall square. The solution enabled students and their parents to easily view and share the projects via a simple URL without registration. The results were highly positive, with students and parents experiencing a significant "wow" factor from the immersive technology. Yulio's tool was instrumental in making VR creation and sharing accessible, successfully demonstrating the power of VR for design and shaping future expectations for the technology.
