A YuJa Case Study
The University of Calgary faced a long-standing need for a campus-wide video solution after instructors relied on personal public accounts or disparate departmental tools. A Video Content Management Advisory Group sought a platform that integrated with D2L Brightspace, supported single sign‑on, and enabled flipped classrooms, lecture capture, livestreaming, student projects and engagement analytics — requirements that led them to choose the YuJa Video Platform.
YuJa implemented its Video Platform across campus, delivering tools for recording (YuJa Software Capture), editing, captioning, indexing, embedding, access controls and engagement analytics, backed by responsive support. The platform scaled quickly during the COVID‑19 surge: by July 2021 the University of Calgary had hosted more than 49,225 videos and recordings, driving greater use of video for active learning, improved accessibility, and broader adoption for faculty training and course delivery.
