How YuJa Supported Johnson County Community College Through Tripling Online Enrollment and Streamlining Media Management

Johnson County Community College needed a central media-management solution as instructors increased video use and required easier editing, captioning, analytics, and integration with Canvas. After an RFP process, the college selected YuJa and implemented the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform to replace fragmented tools like YouTube and TechSmith Relay and to add Zoom integration and video-proctoring capabilities.

YuJa’s platform was deployed campus-wide and easily integrated with Canvas and Zoom, with strong vendor support and a sandbox for testing. The solution scaled quickly during COVID-19, supporting a jump from about 6,000 to 18,000 students in online courses, improved captioning and mobile access, and delivered video analytics that JCCC used to verify student engagement for licensing boards (e.g., EMS programs). YuJa’s responsive support and features like multi-camera recording and quizzing have continued to streamline course delivery and inform future hyflex and instructional design efforts.
