How Delgado Community College is Advancing Accessibility in a Digital Age

Delgado Community College, Louisiana’s oldest and largest community college, faced gaps in course accessibility—faculty relied on limited free tools and often reacted to captioning and transcription needs rather than preventing barriers. To address this, the college signed a five-year, site-wide deployment of YuJa Panorama to embed accessibility checks and automated alternatives directly into Canvas.

YuJa implemented Panorama’s visual gauge, automatic generation of accessible alternatives, and simple drag-and-drop content replacement, which drove rapid adoption (7,100 downloads in the August course-setup period), seven short YuJa-led trainings, and 42% of instructors indicating they want to learn more. The YuJa solution has increased instructor confidence, given students control over formats (audio, contrast, file conversions), and positioned Panorama’s accessibility scoring to become part of Delgado’s course guidelines.
