A YuJa Case Study
The North Dakota University System faced an urgent need to replace an aging Video as a Service solution across its 11 institutions and a single Blackboard instance — a challenge compounded by rising storage needs (peaking at 32.5 TB) and the sudden shift to remote learning. After an RFP process, the North Dakota University System selected YuJa for its usability, toolset, clean design and affordability to provide an enterprise video platform.
YuJa migrated recordings, deployed a YuJa zone and LTI integration for each campus, and enabled systemwide lecture capture, streaming and proctoring that supported 44,000+ students across all 11 universities. The YuJa Video Platform became central during the pandemic by enabling asynchronous delivery, automation of classroom recordings, improved accessibility with accurate auto‑captions, and practical classroom changes (for example, helping a 160‑student course move presentations offline), with continued adoption across the system.
