A YuJa Case Study
Bronx Community College faced an outdated, labor‑intensive in‑house video system with no user interface, limited IT staff, and a need for a scalable solution that supported video hosting, screen capture, and accessibility. After piloting demos and getting referrals from CUNY peers, the college selected YuJa’s Enterprise Video Platform to replace the legacy system and better serve faculty, staff, and students within tight budget constraints.
YuJa implemented its Enterprise Video Platform as BCC’s primary video repository, adding built‑in recording, screen capture, automatic captioning and easy editing—capabilities that proved critical when all classes went remote from March 2020 through the end of summer 2021 (pre‑COVID the college had about 50 courses online). The platform streamlined workflows, improved ADA captioning compliance, drove rapid faculty adoption (leading the college to pursue a full license), enabled instructor self‑evaluation and teaching improvements, and is being positioned as a core tool for BCC’s new NYSED‑approved fully online AA program.
