Case Study: Voiceland achieves always-on VoIP and global high availability with YugabyteDB

A YugabyteDB Case Study

Preview of the Voiceland Case Study

Voiceland relies on YugabyteDB to deliver highly available VoIP services so customers never miss a call

Voiceland, a Greece‑based provider of VoIP telephony and call center services, needed a high‑performance, highly available database to power its new VoIP Telephony SIP platform that could run on GCP, AWS and on‑premises, be compatible with Cassandra and PostgreSQL, integrate with OpenSIPS, CGrates, Kafka and Hasura, and remain open source. The company selected YugabyteDB to meet these requirements and to avoid vendor lock‑in (choosing it over Google Spanner for cost and multi‑deployment flexibility).

YugabyteDB delivered a unified, open‑source distributed database that was validated to integrate with Voiceland’s platform components and support a multi‑cloud architecture across GCP, AWS and on‑premises data centers in Greece. As a result, Voiceland now offers stronger SLAs, a global distributed schema that keeps its SIP platform running through data center failures so customers “never miss a call,” and the ability to scale cloud‑native applications while staying GDPR compliant — outcomes enabled by YugabyteDB.
