Video Watchdog, a cult film magazine, needed to digitize its extensive archive and new issues with a solution that could handle rich media like video, offer strong Digital Rights Management (DRM), and allow sales outside of app store revenue share models. The challenge was to achieve this with an intuitive system suitable for their small team's limited resources.

YUDU implemented its YUDU Publisher platform, which allowed for the easy recreation of the print edition's look and bulk uploading of multimedia. The solution provided customizable subscriber management and DRM tools, enabling a unique monetization model where back issues were sold via a payment portal on Video Watchdog's own website. This helped the magazine securely bring over three decades of archived content to digital, circumventing app store fees and enhancing the offering for readers and advertisers.
