The Salvation Army, a UK charity and church with a long-running portfolio of weekly newspapers, needed a way to reach younger readers who were increasingly using phones and tablets. Working with YUDU and its YUDU Publisher platform, the organization began publishing its titles in app format while still managing a busy print schedule.

YUDU helped The Salvation Army transition quickly from print workflows to digital publishing, starting with replica editions and then adding richer interactive content such as puzzles and slideshow comic strips. The results included stronger engagement, wider reach in the UK and internationally, and measurable growth for Kids Alive!, which ranked second in the children’s category on Newstand and later saw thousands of hits in China.
