DSRU, the Dartington Social Research Unit, needed a better way to run in-person social research without relying on pen-and-paper forms and manual data entry. They wanted a survey app that could work across iOS, Android, and desktop, store responses offline, handle multiple survey types, and support advanced survey logic for projects like “Families in Crisis,” and they partnered with YUDU to make it happen.

YUDU’s Creative Services team built a branded survey app using YUDU’s native iOS, Android, and Air-based desktop frameworks, with offline caching, two separate survey flows, and a custom MySQL database for data capture. The solution let DSRU collect and upload responses on-site or in-office, with or without internet access, and significantly streamlined the research workflow, delivering a clear productivity boost for the team.
