YubiHSM 2 Secures EasyMile’s Worldwide CA Ecosystem

EasyMile, a Toulouse-based developer of autonomous vehicle software with a global footprint, needed to harden its X.509 PKI infrastructure to meet strict security standards for vehicle authentication and software integrity. As part of that initiative, the company required that Certificate Authority private keys be stored in HSM-enabled hardware to strengthen its fleet’s security posture.

EasyMile standardized on Yubico’s YubiHSM 2—building on its existing use of YubiKeys—because it provides open-standards support, OpenSSL API compatibility, a strong cost-to-security ratio, rapid integration, simple administration, and open-source SDKs. The YubiHSM 2 was deployed quickly, delivering the expected security improvements and increased confidence in the certificate ecosystem; the rapid ROI has prompted EasyMile to explore broader use of YubiHSMs and YubiKeys.
