A leading U.S. information and technology-enabled health services provider that serves more than 127 million people across all 50 states and employs over 160,000 staff needed to strengthen its digital identity and minimize breach risk. The IT security team wanted to extend existing PKI/smart card capabilities to a fast, seamless two-factor authentication experience for clinicians (including those on home visits) and to centrally issue and manage credentials at scale, including an initial rollout of 7,000 hardware tokens.

The organization deployed YubiKey 5 Series hardware keys integrated with MyID credential management (with Intercede professional services support) to issue PIV-compatible certificates from their CA/HSM into YubiKeys and smart cards.
