Luther Burbank High School’s Navy NJROTC in Sacramento partnered with the CyberPatriot program to teach cadets real-world cybersecurity skills, facing the dual challenge of educating students about evolving online threats and protecting their online accounts from phishing and unauthorized access. Instructors needed an easy-to-use, strong authentication method that would both secure student Google accounts and demonstrate modern security practices.

The result: immediate adoption and enthusiasm—students found registration and single‑touch login effortless, account security was significantly improved over SMS-based 2FA, and the team is expanding YubiKey use cases and growing its CyberPatriot roster.
