Generali reduces cyber risk by 50% with Yubico

Generali Poland, a part of the global Generali Group, faced a significant challenge as Poland became the world's most cyber-attacked country. To help its customers mitigate risk, the insurer launched its CyberRED cyber insurance policy, which required strong, phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA) as a base requirement for coverage. To meet this need and provide added value, Generali partnered with vendor Yubico.

The solution involved including a starter package of ten YubiKey 5 NFC hardware security keys from Yubico with every CyberRED contract. This provided customers with a convenient and phishing-resistant MFA solution. The implementation of just ten YubiKeys in sensitive areas of an organization was shown by Yubico to reduce the probability of a negative cyber event by up to 50%, significantly lowering risk for policyholders and helping Generali Poland set a new benchmark for cyber insurance.
