Etsy, a global marketplace with millions of buyers and sellers, was seeing the majority of traffic come from mobile but wanted to move users from a lower-converting mobile web experience into its higher-converting native apps. The team needed reliable deep linking from specific mobile web items into the app, the ability to track which web calls-to-action drove installs and purchases, and a solution that handled wide Android device and OS fragmentation.
Yozio’s SuperLink and fingerprinting technology provided data-rich deep links and deferred deep linking so users—whether they already had the app or not—landed on the exact item inside Etsy after install. This enabled unified attribution and banner/interstitial experimentation, produced a 40% lift in downloads for the new SuperLink-enabled banner (April 2015), and delivered a more personalized, seamless shopping experience.
