Nielsen Holdings, a global media measurement company, struggled to scale volunteer and event tracking using multiple lists that couldn’t capture hours, locations, business-unit participation, or specific causes. To quantify annual employee volunteering, enable year‑round project creation, and give associates tools to grow their impact, Nielsen Holdings implemented the YourCause corporate social responsibility (CSR) platform in May 2014.
Using the YourCause platform, Nielsen Holdings established baseline metrics, captured historical trends, and applied analytics to boost engagement—delivering a 23.3% increase in volunteers since 2013, more than 23,000 employees taking part in Nielsen Global Impact Day 2016 across 90+ countries, 1,400 projects created, and 900 nonprofits engaged. YourCause’s international support, translations, and global nonprofit network helped Nielsen identify impact areas, understand associate cause preferences, and target groups for deeper engagement.
