Employees at Land O’Lakes Exceed Expectations for their Annual Giving Campaign

Land O’Lakes, the farmer-owned cooperative known for its commitment to community and corporate social responsibility, faced the challenge of expanding and simplifying its annual employee giving campaign. To offer employees more choice and convenient donation methods — including a new payroll giving option — Land O’Lakes moved the fall campaign onto the YourCause platform from Blackbaud to ensure a seamless user experience.

Using YourCause, supported by regular account-manager check-ins, ambassador training, and a “How to Donate” guide, Land O’Lakes launched a more flexible campaign that allowed donations to multiple nonprofits and easier giving options. The move paid off: the 2020 giving campaign exceeded its $1.5M goal with $1.6M donated and 28% of donors were new, and subsequent efforts like Hunger Action Week reached the $30,000 match goal with 158 employee donors and 40 new LOLgives users.
