AmeriHealth Caritas, a Medicaid managed care company serving 5.7 million people with 6,200 associates, needed a formal, accountable volunteer program to support rapid growth and meet community and government expectations for measurable social responsibility. To standardize tracking and scale volunteer engagement nationally, AmeriHealth Caritas partnered with YourCause and invested in the YourCause portal to capture hours and outcomes.

Using the Care Crew program and the YourCause portal, AmeriHealth Caritas formalized volunteerism, engaged national volunteer leads, and built more than 700 community partnerships. The YourCause-enabled program produced measurable impact: tens of thousands of volunteer hours logged (38,798 hours recorded in 2018), 3,429 volunteer projects, 47% of employees logged four or more hours versus a 25% target, and an estimated $957,934 in community value in 2018.
