Motor House launches arts hub in 2 weeks with Younts Design

Motor House, a hub for artists and arts organizations in Baltimore, was commissioned by BARCO. They engaged vendor Younts Design for experiential and brand design services to name and brand this new arts space located in a historic building.

Younts Design developed the name "Motor House," which alludes to the building's history as a car dealership. The branding solution used a vintage-inspired typography and a color palette from 1950s car paint swatches. For environmental design, Younts Design created exterior neon signage and interior signs with rubber and acrylic, and a unique wall feature using expired license plates. The vendor successfully created a distinct identity that honored the location's history while serving its new, progressive purpose.
