Emily Carr University of Art + Design, a higher education institution in Vancouver, needed a better way to handle resource scheduling, appointment bookings, student management, and applicant screening. Before Yocale, the university relied on manual methods like stock calendar apps and pen and paper, which made it difficult for students to book lab, workshop, studio, and advising time efficiently, especially after hours or across shared resources.

Yocale implemented calendar management, a configurable online booking widget, student management, resource-based booking, calendar integrations, dashboards, and student self-service tools to centralize scheduling and streamline communication. The results were significant: online bookings rose from 0% to 95% within six months, returning student bookings reached 91%, and the average number of online bookings per student increased from 1.8 to 8 per month, while staff also gained time back from manual scheduling work.
