Yext Location Cloud Powers Pep Boys' Brand Engagement to Connect with Customers

Pep Boys, a century-old automotive retail and service chain with more than 800 locations and over 26 million Rewards members, needed a way to keep its brand top of mind for local customers and ensure accurate, engaging digital listings across search engines, maps, directories, and social networks. The company also faced a specific challenge on Instagram: many customers post about visits without branded hashtags or mentions, and Instagram’s native search doesn’t surface posts by location, making it hard to find and engage local, in-store user content.

Pep Boys deployed the Yext Knowledge Engine to manage listings across 100+ platforms and to monitor Instagram geo-tagged posts in real time. Yext’s dashboard allowed centralized, real-time updates and direct responses to customer posts, helping Pep Boys track over 9,300 Instagram posts and 60,000 Facebook check-ins, identify influencers, engage employees and customers, resolve issues faster, and grow local brand engagement and audience reach.
