Bienen-Apotheke is a progressive German pharmacy franchiser with about 20 locations in and around Munich that needed to modernize its digital presence despite strict local regulations that historically discouraged online activity. Because most medications must be bought in person and pharmacies take turns providing 24-hour emergency service, accurate, up-to-date online listings and opening hours are critical for customers — but were difficult to maintain across publishers and maps.
Bienen-Apotheke partnered with Yext to centralize and push accurate data from a single Knowledge Engine to 100+ publishers via the PowerListings network and to manage social channels like Facebook and Foursquare. The solution let the franchiser update emergency and regular opening hours swiftly, improve local customer engagement, grow its social following, and focus on content and an expanding online shop and geomarketing strategy while ensuring people can reliably find the right pharmacy when they need one.
