Leicester City Council launches a WCAG AA website in 2 phases with Yes Creative

Yes Creative was engaged by Leicester City Council to create a website for their new city centre hub, Gresham Works. The challenge was to design a fun, engaging, and informative website to advertise the serviced offices and co-working space while the physical location was still under construction, all while ensuring the site met strict WCAG AA accessibility guidelines from the outset.

The solution implemented by Yes Creative was a two-phase project. Phase one involved building a one-page site with custom illustrations to create a visual identity in the absence of photography. Phase two expanded the site with a design update and additional page templates. Yes Creative developed a custom WordPress theme that was both visually dynamic with animations and fully accessible, passing tests like SiteImprove and Google Lighthouse. The result was a unique, compliant website that is easy for council staff to update.
