Sprouts Farmers Market ran performance-based Yelp Ads to accelerate growth in new markets

Sprouts Farmers Market, a national grocery chain focused on affordable healthy foods with over 200 locations, wanted to accelerate growth in new markets after testing small Yelp budgets since 2013. To scale their efforts they ran a $20,000 performance-based Yelp Ads test across 55 locations from February–March 2016.

The Yelp Ads campaign drove nearly 5,000 additional customers, with 64% of leads resulting in users mapping directions to a Sprouts location, and delivered an estimated 5x return on ad spend (about $5 back for every $1 invested) based on average basket size. Yelp also provided startup credits to support the program.
