Regal Entertainment Group, the largest and most geographically diverse theatre circuit in the U.S., wanted to boost ticket sales around the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. To do this, Regal selected a group of locations and ran performance-based, locally targeted Yelp Ads to attract nearby moviegoers.
The Yelp Ads campaign drove substantial engagement: user views of Regal Cinemas’ Yelp pages rose 139% (from 15,105 to 36,133) and customer leads increased 77% (from 4,536 to 8,049). Customer leads include clicks to the website, mobile calls, directions/map views, and mobile check-ins.
