Digital Planet boosts data performance with cloud, modernizes self-service analytics using Yellowfin

Digital Planet, a B2B2C technology and education distributor serving corporate customers like banks and telcos, needed to improve its reporting experience and provide self-service and embedded analytics for clients. As its data warehouse grew, performance slowed, refreshes took up to 20 minutes, and the company needed a better way to support reporting without disrupting operations. Digital Planet worked with Yellowfin and its partners, including AIGS, to find a more scalable analytics foundation.

Yellowfin helped Digital Planet pair its analytics with Exasol in Microsoft Azure to modernize the data environment and boost performance. The results were dramatic: initial data loads dropped from 2 hours to 7 minutes, and refresh times fell from 20 minutes to under 2 minutes. With Yellowfin, Digital Planet also launched a self-service customer portal, expanded embedded analytics, and improved KPI tracking and data storytelling for more users.
