A YAROOMS Case Study
Columbia University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences faced fragmented, building-by-building room booking processes that relied on administrative staff, phone calls and emails, which caused overlapping meetings and slow coordination. In 2016 Columbia University engaged YAROOMS to introduce a single, campus-wide room booking hub to give staff autonomy and a faster, more consistent way to find and reserve space.
YAROOMS deployed a central booking platform that lets users find and book the right room in under a minute, consolidating scheduling across 28 buildings and 178 rooms. The solution handled roughly 110,000 meetings, achieved a 100% reduction in booking conflicts, and saved an estimated 18,000 hours (about two years) of staff time through much more efficient scheduling.
