NALS Apartment Homes, a Santa Barbara–headquartered real estate investment firm managing 15,837 residential units across the U.S., was burdened by time-consuming manual processes: leasing staff spent significant hours on data entry for applications, work orders and payments, and residents had no single, convenient place to pay bills or request maintenance.
Implementing RENTCafé (integrated with Yardi Voyager) moved applications, payments and maintenance requests online, eliminating manual keying and centralizing resident services. The results were dramatic: in one month NALS saved 1,070 staff hours, processed 347 applications (saving 87 hours), handled 11,000 online transactions, reached 94% resident portal registration and achieved 83% electronic rent payments—freeing onsite teams to focus on resident engagement and reducing bank trips and interruptions.
