Everett Housing Authority (EHA), a public housing agency serving Everett, Washington and Snohomish County with about 1,500 units and more than 2,500 rental assistance vouchers, faced heavy administrative burdens from paper-based waiting list applications, annual recertifications and HUD portability requirements. These manual processes were time-consuming for applicants and staff, increased errors, and complicated coordination with other PHAs.

EHA implemented Yardi’s RENTCafé PHA (alongside Yardi Voyager and other tools) to provide a 24/7 online portal for applications and recertifications, reducing paperwork and staff time while improving accuracy. The portal proved immediately effective—when EHA opened a targeted waiting list in 2016 it received over 3,600 applications in 10 days—and the agency is expanding use to streamline workflows and simplify voucher portability.
