Walton Communities is a privately held developer, owner and manager of residential, affordable and multifamily housing in metro Atlanta and Augusta, with a portfolio of 6,370 residential units (including 2,492 tax credit units). The company was burdened by a paper-heavy invoice process: staff from 20 properties transported dozens of invoices weekly to corporate, costing time and money and diverting employees from leasing and resident service—an issue that would worsen as the portfolio grew.
Walton implemented Yardi PayScan Full Service, which routes vendor invoices to a secure lockbox where Yardi scans, indexes and posts them to the Yardi Voyager dashboard for review and approval. The service processes roughly 30,000 invoices a year, reduced approval cycles from as long as three weeks to one day, eliminated transportation, copying and storage costs, and freed staff to focus on leasing, resident service and maintenance; it also integrates with Walton’s broader Yardi Procure-to-Pay suite and automatically attaches purchase orders for added efficiency.
